Speaking of memes...

This is something I had written on September 24th elsewhere. Got it from the Singaporean/Malaysian blogosphere (Mr Brown and Kenny Sia have both written entries on this theme. "I am that blogger... who are you?"). Joel aka BigFuck aka RamboTan makes fun of it.
Anyway I thought I'd force myself to discipline my writing a little bit today (plus dad is out of office haha!) So here goes (slightly edited for better flow).

I am that girl who would wish upon a star for romance. I am that girl who decided romance was daily living.
I am that girl who fears taking luxury for granted. I am that girl who craves for the very illusions she deprives herself of.
I am that girl who craves attention. I am that girl who shies away from the spotlight.
I am that girl who dreams California. I am that girl who lives New York.
I am that girl who wants to shine like a beacon into the future. I am that girl who stops herself.
I am that girl that girlfriends cherish. I am that girl that boys do not value.
I am that girl who plays the dating game with you. i am that girl who loses all the time.
I am that girl who gives you an arch look over the crowd. I am that girl who turns away.
I am that girl who lets you walk all over her. I am that girl who will stop you one day.
I am that girl who makes you hate her to test your love. I am that girl who unfortunately, has to fail you.
I am that girl who asked for love in any form possible. I am that girl who is cheated, because you have nothing. to give.
I am that girl who scares you with her sex appeal. I am that girl who wishes you wouldnt be.
I am that girl you cannot imagine spending the rest of your life with. I am that girl who makes sure she loves herself enough to only make you believe she needed you.
I am that girl who lets you leave. I am that girl who cries her pain into repression.
I am that girl who believes in you and her more than you do. I am that girl who walks away.
I am that girl who recognises maya. I am that girl who drowns herself in it daily.
I am that girl who wants to believe. I am that girl who is scared to start.

Another cool meme is 55 Fiction. I found the concept through Anna who also writes on Sepia Mutiny. Which I think looks like a cool site for brown people (meaning the South Asian Diaspora). It's basically about writing a story in 55 words. Isn't that cool!

Let me attempt the bit I wrote two entries down in 55 words.

WOOHOO!!! Here it is! Damn, precis is hard! I was vacillating 5 times between 54 and 56 words and had to change the entire sense of the passage to get it down!

They stood across the bar. They knew that each had seen the other. His glaring physical imperfections stunned her. Each pretended to be enjoying themselves as she walked past him with a toss of her head, a sway of her hips and a smile, noticing, with surprise, that she had managed to preserve her dignity.

Well, what do you think?!?!?!
