One Voice, Many Worlds

A ripple in the water is sometimes all that is needed to signal catastrophic change. ONE ripple can make all the difference between existence and evolution.

Procrastination and Protest!

Okay, I feel so totally ashamed of myself... this day has passed simply editing my posts and doing nonsense! But it's good to have days like that once in a while. So here is a link about procrastination - Im sure all of us have undergone a process similar to this during college at least if not at work! Reader of Depressing Books Teeheehee.

Min Jung Kim has a lovely entry on the Life Cycle of Bloggers . I'm on stage 2. Up next... stats whore! Heeheehee! Looking forward to it in a year or so (If I manage to sustain my attention span long enough!

Andrew Sullivan does an excellent article on blogging as the future of journalism.

Textrapolis writes a Blogger Manifesto thats so funny! I'm going to attempt one of my own soon!

(Ive picked up all of the above links from Mr. Brown. Yup, i take the plagiarism lesson Uni of Bath tried to hammer into our collective heads pretty seriously! Give credit where credit is due yaar!)

Seriously though, (and this is something that had hindered me from starting a blog earlier) it's really scary that even one's blog cannot be a personal space for ranting, bitching, airong controversial views or dirty laundry etc. While there are sites such as Diaryland for secret horrible writing, its amazing how even something remotely controversial, but not shocking, can become misconstrued in a society that claims to be becoming freer and freer/ its ironic how with every step forward we seem to be taking a couple of very important steps back, though at different levels. Mr Brown, mentioned that schoolkids have been suspended for flaming their teachers. I mean, give me a break, its not like this is the first time its happened, the only difference is there's EVIDENCE if its published online! What bullshit is that? Mr. Brown also writes that some professor was not hired though he was an excellent candidate for a post in the US because of his blog! What someone does in their private lives should not be relevant to the part of their life that they are considered to be role models for! This is a stand Im taking that is very different from one I held a few years ago. Bill Clinton, while a lascivious cheat, was a good politician. Regard him as your role model for a good politician, but not for a faithful husband. Gandhiji was almost single-handedly repsonsible for creating our nation, but gave his family many problems with his views, leading his eldest son to hate him and convert to Islam, away from the religion his father cherished. Rather than bitching about how you dont respect a man who sacrificed his personal life for a calling he deemed greater, give him credit where credit is due and look to someone else for guidance in your personal life. You cannot disregard a person completely simply because of an aspect or two that you dont like about them. Where's the objectivity? We are all human; no one's completely good or bad! Each one of us has a major failing that affects an important aspect of our lives, and at the same time, each one of us has qualities that have serious potential to posituvely affect people! It just depends which ones each of us wants to focus on!

Yes, I dont want my clients or associates or unknown peers to form one-sided opinions of me. But each depends on each one's personal perspective.

OKay thats it for now. Catch ya later!
